Hidden Cape Town was born like most things – through a couple having a passionate conversation about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness over a drink… or few – whilst on honeymoon in Asia. We got married in late 2024 and, as a couple that has a vivid passion for travel, we took off on an audacious three-month honeymoon. Escaping the winter in Cape Town, we ventured deep into the chasms of every city we visited and felt what it was like to be a stranger in a strange land once again. It makes you feel alive. This sparked a lot of ideas and inspiration, which we brought back to Cape Town.

What we realised was that the bars, eateries and nightlife of a city are a huge part of its heart and soul. It’s in these spaces that you really see a city’s collective spirit come alive, where you get a feel for the flavour of culture and personalties around you. It’s how you connect to a city, its people and how you too, can be part of its urban buzz.

The truth of the situation is when you visit a new city, planning an evening out can be daunting. Visitors typically lack essential information about how to navigate neighbourhoods safely after dark. Compounding this is the sheer volume of bars and attractions, making it overwhelming for tourists to select and prioritise the best spots for their night out.

We felt this pain point on our own travels, and realised, as locals passionate about Cape Town, we could create an experience that would provide the safety, the security and the best spots in town to tourists. Everything you want on a night out in an unknown city.

We wanted to created an experience so exquisitely curated, that being guided on this mysterious itinerary would leave a lasting impression, create unique memories and allow people to feel the pulse of the city after dark, in a way like no other.
